The blogger-turned-bestselling-author who documented her secret life as a call girl revealed after five years of carefully maintained anonymity her true identity as scientist Dr Brooke Magnanti this week, apparently in a pre-emptive strike against an imminent Daily Mail exposé. For all those who had long held the dream that she would be prostitution 's Neo – The One who would prove that the true reality of the world's oldest profession was that women who go on the game are as willing as they are ...

Under threat of a lawsuit by The Fayetteville Observer, The Associated Press, ABC and Capitol Broadcasting Co., Fort Bragg on Friday lifted restrictions on press coverage of an appearance by Sarah Palin. The former Alaska governor is scheduled to sign copies of her book "Going Rogue" on Monday at the North Post Exchange. The lawsuit, which was minutes away from being filed in federal court, asked for a temporary restraining order that would prohibit Fort Bragg from denying media less access to the event than that provided to the general public.

This literate and absorbing book is, as the title baldly states, Agassi's confessional, a wrenching chronicle of his lifelong search for identity and serenity, on and off the court. Peter Mayle, best known for "A Year in Provence," begins in Malibu but swiftly heads back to France, in a wine-and-food fiction this time around. Reviewer Bernadette Murphy writes : "The Vintage Caper" is just that -- a caper -- a lighthearted romp through Bordeaux and Marseille, in which picking the right restaurant, ...

As JWF explains, one of the women quoted (of course!) by AP seems to be an Obama fan. In the supposedly angry crowd, you hear only one woman droning on "Sign our books" with the exact cadence of "O-ba-ma," and one heckling male. Based on two likely lefty disruptors, the left wants to call everyone else in the crowd "angry."

Fox News Channel would probably be wise to sign up Sarah Palin . She has done great things for the ratings this week. Her appearance on " Hannity " on Wednesday night boosted that show to 4.2 million viewers.

Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" book tour just went rogue on some unhappy fans. The former governor arrived at a Borders bookstore in Noblesville, Indiana Thursday night to sign books. The evening started off well.

We had a great time a year ago in Indiana but I think I'm having even more fun now, though   -Sarah Palin

Bookshop Santa Cruz , located in Downtown Santa Cruz and known for its long history of commenting on politics and political books, is now offering an "essential" item as a companion to Palin's new book, Going Rogue . "Sarah Palin's Just Plain Nutz." The bag is also available solo for just under $4 for those, the bookshop says, "who can stomach a 1-ounce bag of walnuts, but can't stomach 432 pages of Sarah Palin's writing." "Our bag of nuts is an honest 1-ounce," muses bookstore owner Casey Coonerty Protti.

Sarah Palin ticked off about 150 fans in Noblesville, Ind., last night by bailing on a book signing earlier than expected. Though the first 1,000 people who bought Going Rogue from the local Borders got wristbands that were supposed to ensure they'd get their copies signed, Palin got back on her tour bus right at 9. One fan loudly accused her of "quitting on the job," as you can see in the video at left.

I love meat. I eat pork chops, thick bacon-burgers, and the seared fatty edges of a medium-well-done steak. But I especially love moose and caribou.
